Laugh, play games, goof around and do what you usually do

Parenthood is precious, and while our memories may get blurrier and weaker with time, we have photos and family albums to remind us of all the lovely days that brought us joy and peace.

moments you’ll cherish the most years from now.

Forget about posing and feeling stiff in front of the camera. Imagine going on a walk with an old friend, who just happens to have a camera with them. My process is free and flowy, and my only goal is to capture your true self.
I want to show the real, raw and imperfectly perfect moments, because they matter the most. Most people feel a bit anxious around the camera, and that’s completely normal. I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve that will help you and your family loosen up and feel relaxed.

FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

This all depends on which session you decide to book. Please check the investment page for detailed information.

How should we dress for our family session?

Depending on your session type and theme, we’ll discuss some ideas for outfits and colors. All clients will receive my prep guide, which provides all my tips and tricks.

Do you do any indoor sessions?

I offer in-home lifestyle sessions, ideal for newborns, families and maternity. I highly recommend making sure that the rooms we're using have ample window light.

Can I choose the location?

Yes Please do! If you have a favorite outdoor location that you like to visit, we can definitely go there. If there is a permit fee to shoot on that property it will be added to your invoice.

What's the best time of day to book a photo shoot?

Timing plays a huge role in how your images turn out. I prefer natural light; I tend to book most of my sessions in the evening to get "golden hour" sunset lighting. If your schedule won't allow for that, we can meet earlier than recommended, but we must pick a location that offers ample shade to avoid harsh shadows. If it ends up being overcast the day of our shoot, we'll have the flexibility to meet earlier in the day since the sunlight will be defused.

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

The first thing you should know-there's no need to be nervous. No one expects you to be a professionally trained model. Nor is that needed! We're just people hanging out, taking pictures, and enjoying the moment. Half of the time you won't need to do anything at all, just relax and be yourself I will be with you every step of the way and guide you through the whole process.

Do we have to order prints from you?

It's definitely an option, but it's not mandatory! If you choose to order prints yourself, I do recommend ordering them through a specialized photo center and not a generic lab (e.g., Walmart, Shutterfly, CVS, Walgreens) as I can't vouch for their quality.

Do you edit all of your images? Do you provide the Raws?

Yes, I hand edit and go through each of my images and even edit for other photographers. I do not provide the Raws. I take a lot of raw images in one session. After a shoot, I handpick final images and edit each photograph to bring it to its full potential! I make sure every amazing shot makes it into your gallery.

Do you travel for your photoshoots?

Yes, I sure do. I've been all over Indiana, Ohio and some into Kentucky. Depending on the location, additional travel costs may apply. but no worries, I always try to find the cheapest way to get there because I want to work within your budget.

Can you recommend any locations?

I know many locations in Shelbyville and its immediate surroundings. I'll do my best to suggest some locations that can fit your needs based on your vibe and session goals.

What if I need to reschedule my session?

No worries at all! Sometimes mother nature doesn't work with us and we might need to reschedule, or something comes up and you can't make your booked time. Together, we'll find a new date that suits. At least 24 hours' notice is appreciated if you need to reschedule, but I also understand that this isn't always possible.

We want to bring our dog to our session, is that okay?

Of course! I will never say no to a furry friend at a session. My heart is open to all animals, and I'd be more than happy to sneak a few cuddles in with them!

How do we receive our photos?

When your images are ready, I'll send you an instantly downloadable digital gallery that you can share freely.
